Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I started writing in high school and I really enjoyed it. I remember in our English class we were given the assignment to write a poem, it could be on anything we wanted, and felt like I was the only one who was excited about the assignment. I wrote several that day. The poetry eventually led me to write manuscripts and I can say I started my first book, which is now published today in 2015. The character comes from my calling my sister the name and the antics of my youngest daughter who is now 9.

I decided to do a children’s book because at the time my daughter was 4 and I wanted to read her something she could relate to. The stories I write about are based on her mischievousness and playfulness growing up – things she did, tried, tested, and spoke about. The book is relatable to all kids and their parents. As well as teachers.

Every kid loves to read or be read to. My book has a gentle message for all kids and their parents to help explain things such as why am I different. The messages I proved in these stories are to help children grow and to help the parents teach their children and cope with different things that happen in life. Although there are gentle messages the stories are cute, fun, and enjoyable to read. The illustrations capture the attention of the kids.

I wouldn’t say I have a professional inspiration but I can say my greatest inspirations are my kids and my family. Their support pushes me to exceed even my own expectations.

Whether you are a full-time mother, a wife, a student, or unemployed you should always pursue your dreams. Don’t let anyone or anything ever take you off track and derail you from your dreams. Live your dream, do what you are passionate about and sit back and reap the rewards later. Hard work and dedication should always come first. If I didn’t have the tenacity to move forward with my writing my book would have never come to life. These are the same things I tell my children. Without risk or hard work there is no reward and if you see believe in it, see it through.

Yes, I am hoping to launch a product line with plush dolls, rain boots, DVDs, birthday party-themed items and so much more. Hopefully, a cartoon will come out of this. That would definitely be a blessing. I think the kids would love to see this book, as well as the others I am working on in live animation form. I think a cartoon would be great!

Success is a mindset. It is the goals a person sets for themselves and that goal changes based on the direction the person wishes to go in.

No. In my mind, I will never reach success because I will always be reaching for my next goal. Back when my daughter was 9 she would have said, success is when I reach 100K in sales and my books are on the New York Times Best Selling list I would be successful so I can take her and the family to Paris. I may not be successful in other people’s eyes but my book is out so I will not discount that as part of my success. This is a very nice start to my future success.
